Position: Coordinator- Domestic Violence High-Risk Team (DVHRT)

Wage: $20.60/hour

Reports to: Program Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Visalia, CA

Summary: We are looking for a well-organized and motivated Coordinator for our agency. Coordinators are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating different programs. They must have an excellent understanding of how to manage their projects with strict deadlines while staying within budget constraints by utilizing resources effectively. The Coordinator will assist with training new staff. The Coordinator will be responsible for the smooth operation of the program and working in collaboration with team members to achieve common program goals.

Role Assignment: Provide administrative organization and leadership for both the High-Risk Team and Advocacy and Legal Services Program. The DVHRT Coordinator will facilitate the multi-disciplinary collaborative team in developing case-specific plans to interrupt the cycle of escalating violence and minimize the risk of further abuse. The DVHRT Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring ongoing DALE training with TCSO. The DVHRT Coordinator will coordinate and facilitate Domestic Violence Education for new members of the team along with DALE training. The DVHRT Coordinator will be responsible for holding DVHR-Team members responsible for their duties within their roles, including those in superior positions. This person will continue to monitor high-risk cases that are taken on for further monitoring by requesting court updates until the case has been sentenced or dismissed.

Responsibilities:  

  • Greet clients/donors/visitors in a friendly and professional manner and assist them in connecting with the appropriate staff person.
  •  Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate individuals or take messages as needed.  Answer general questions regarding FSTC and refer to essential community resources as needed.
  •  Maintain open communication with appropriate staff regarding the completion of projects and any needs for additional work.
  •  May assist with grant or proposal writing as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program; may participate in other fundraising activities.
  • Communicate any problems or concerns with group members or group dynamics to the Program Manager in a timely manner.
  • Adherence to policies related to HIPAA, confidentiality, information sharing, and appropriate use of agency client database.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to self, co-workers, and clients.

 

Desired Qualifications


Education: 

  • An Associate of Arts degree, certification from a business college or vocational school, or minimum two-year work or volunteer experience that demonstrates relevance to the job duties.
  • Must be a certified domestic violence counselor as per California State Evidence Code 1037.1 or be able to complete the training within three months of hire.

Experience:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, word-processing, databases, spreadsheets, and graphics required. 

Transportation: 

  • A valid California Driver's License, availability of automobile for business use, and at least minimal auto liability insurance coverage as required by law. 

Additional Requirements: 

  • Must be bondable. Must receive clearance from the Department of Justice Criminal Record Offender Information database.
  • Excellent speaking and writing, training, and presentation skills are also required. 
  • The candidate should be able to coordinate and maintain effective working relationships with relevant partner organizations and stakeholders.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting and field environment including travel to various locations; sitting for prolonged periods; standing for brief periods; climbing 3-5 stairs; operating office equipment including a computer keyboard.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents and to operate the equipment.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must possess the ability to understand and appreciate diversity, and to be sensitive to different experiences and cultures. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events. Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
