The following services are available for adult survivors of domestic violence with or without children.
Crisis Response
- In-person response to victims wherever they may be (school, hospital, clinic, police station, etc.)
- Emotional support, peer counseling, and safety planning for victims and their children
- Hospital support and advocacy
- Follow up support, information, and referrals to services such as Medi-Cal or other providers
Shelter & Transitional Support
- Emergency shelter for survivors and their children at Karen’s House
- Longer-term transitional housing in single-family apartments
- Case management
- Financial empowerment training
- Child advocacy and enrichment activities for children
Legal Advocacy Services
- Assistance with filing restraining orders, custody orders, and child support responses
- Support for survivors and families going through the court process, including accompanying survivors to legal appointments and hearings
- Assistance with legal representation may be available in more complex cases
Professional Counseling
- No-cost professional counseling for survivors and their children
- Free survivor support groups
