Domestic Violence Services

The following services are available for adult survivors of domestic violence with or without children.

Crisis Response

  • In-person response to victims wherever they may be (school, hospital, clinic, police station, etc.)
  • Emotional support, peer counseling, and safety planning for victims and their children
  • Hospital support and advocacy
  • Follow up support, information, and referrals to services such as Medi-Cal or other providers

Shelter & Transitional Support

  • Emergency shelter for survivors and their children at Karen’s House
  • Longer-term transitional housing in single-family apartments
  • Case management
  • Financial empowerment training
  • Child advocacy and enrichment activities for children

Legal Advocacy Services

  • Assistance with filing restraining orders, custody orders, and child support responses  
  • Support for survivors and families going through the court process, including accompanying survivors to legal appointments and hearings
  • Assistance with legal representation may be available in more complex cases

Professional Counseling

  • No-cost professional counseling for survivors and their children
  • Free survivor support groups
