Summary:
This position is housed in the Goshen Family Center. Participating and supporting in Family Enrichment activities and events such as food distributions, summer events, and all other events is a requirement for this position. In-Home-Parent-Educators follow evidence supported home visitor program models designed to increase child safety, wellness, and healthy development. Parent Educator will work with a combination of referred and walk-in clients from the Goshen community.
Responsibilities:
- Interview, enroll and case manage referred clients, explain programs, and complete enrollments/referrals.
- Complete assessments, service plans, correspond with CWS social workers and keep CWS social workers up-to-date with regular reports.
- Provide direct skill training to parents in the areas of home safety, child health, and parent-child interactions.
- Refer or otherwise link parents to other community agencies and resources able to provide additional services or continuing support to clients.
- Complete and maintain all client statistical and record keeping information in the Penelope software program. Maintain security and confidentiality and perform duties in a safe and healthy manner.
- Maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries with clients. Maintain security, confidentiality and perform duties in a safe and healthy manner. Confidentiality is required due to the open case status of referred clientele.
- Attend training to ensure understanding of evidence based home visitation model used in
- program, of culturally competent practices, and other related issues and subjects.
- Utilize Covid 19 safety protocols including working remotely at times with clients.
- Attend ongoing training in a variety of topics including but not limited to, Trauma training, Evidence Practice training, ACE’s, Foodlink and others to be determined.
- Adherence to policies related to HIPAA, confidentiality, information sharing and appropriate use of agency client database.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must demonstrate capacity to be organized and detail oriented; to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English; to work independently and as part of a team; and to follow a curriculum with fidelity.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required. Course work in Social Work, Human Services, and/or Child Development preferred.
- Experience: Must be English/Spanish bilingual. One year minimum of previous responsibilities related to the job duties.
- Transportation: Must possess valid California Driver License, available vehicle for daily business use, and auto insurance as required by law.
- Additional Requirements: Must receive clearance from the Department of Justice Criminal Record Offender Information database. Must complete required training. Bi-lingual, Bi-literate capacity in Spanish is preferred and may be required.

- Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to drive for long periods of time, to work in an office setting and field environment including travel to various locations; sit for prolonged periods of time; stand for brief periods of time; climb 3-5 stairs; operate office equipment including a computer keyboard.
- Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents and to operate equipment.
- Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
