Position: Professional Provider of Supervised Visitation

Wage:  $18.03-$19.83 BOE

Summary: We are looking for compassionate providers of supervised visitation to monitor and document visits between children and non-custodial families. 

Role Assignment: The Professional Provider is responsible for overseeing and facilitating visits between children and their non-custodial parents in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. This position ensures that all interactions are aligned with court orders, safety protocols, and the best interests of the child. The Visit Supervisor serves as a neutral party and reports any observations that may impact future visitations. This is a part-time grant-funded position in Porterville. The schedule is for the most part Tuesday – Saturday with some evenings. The assignment will also include making calls to parents for any cancellations or to confirm their visits. Part of the assignment will include creating and updating files in FSTC’s client database software promptly. This will require some travel throughout Tulare County at times as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of Visits: Monitor and facilitate visitations between non-custodial parents and their children, ensuring adherence to court-ordered agreements and visitation protocols.
  • Safety Management: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of the child(ren) during visits by intervening when necessary and documenting any concerns.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document all observations during the visit, including behaviors, interactions, and any incidents, and submit reports to the case manager or relevant authorities.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between the child, custodial parent, and non-custodial parent/guardian.
  • Report suspected child abuse/endangerment according to state law.
     

Other Responsibilities:

  • Communicate all concerns, needs, or program ideas with the Program Manager in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
  • Attend all 1:1 supervisions and team meetings. Be an active participant in team meetings and training.
  • Assist parents in cleaning and sanitizing visitation rooms after each visit.
  • Safely perform all tasks to avoid injury to self and others.
  • Adherence to policies related to HIPAA, confidentiality, information sharing, and appropriate use of the agency-client database.
  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or Leadership Team.
     

Qualifications:

  •  Education: Completion of high school or equivalency or associate's degree.
  • Experience: Demonstrated ability to read and write English. Must demonstrate maturity and teamwork in all crises.  Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite & ability to work on online platforms. Must demonstrate compassion, especially when clients are experiencing complex issues or in crisis. Must demonstrate cultural competence, to understand and value clients’ unique values and perspectives.
  • Transportation: California Driver’s License, availability of automobile for business use, and at least minimum auto liability insurance as required by law.

Additional Requirement: 

  • Must receive clearance from the Trust Line Registry and Department of Justice Criminal Record Offender Information database. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess or be immediately able to obtain 24 hours of training in Standard 5.20 Uniform Standards of Practice for Providers of Supervised Visitation, domestic violence, substance abuse; child abuse, child abuse reporting laws, child development, court/legal procedures, community resources, and crisis intervention. 
  • Not have been on probation or parole for the last 10 years, Have no conviction for DUI within the past 5 years.  No conviction of child molesting, child abuse, or other crimes against a person. No civil, criminal, or juvenile restraining orders within the last 10 years. Have no current or past court order in which the provider is the person being supervised
  • California Uniform Standards of Practice 5.20 for Providers of Supervised Visitation and Family Code 3200.5

Physical Demands & Working Environment:

  • Environment: Standard office setting; some travel from site to site; occasional exposure to the sun, moderate heat, noise, dust, and fumes; stressful situations. Requires the kind of teamwork, supervision, and personal interaction, that cannot be had in a home office situation; therefore, regular and predictable on-site attendance is a job requirement.
  • Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods; stand for brief periods; climb 3-5 stairs; and operate modern office equipment. Work requires lifting, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical exertion.  Lift to 25 lbs.
  • Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents and to operate the equipment.
  • Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
