Position Summary:
The DVHRT Coordinator provides administrative leadership and coordination for the Domestic Violence High-Risk Team (DVHRT), the Advocacy and CalWORKs Program. The role facilitates a multidisciplinary team approach to addressing high-risk domestic violence cases through development and implementation of targeted intervention strategies aimed at reducing risk of continued harm.
The Coordinator oversees training initiatives, including the Domestic Violence Awareness and Legal Education (DALE) in partnership with the Tulare County Sheriff's Office, and ensures team members are equipped with the knowledge and resources necessary to effectively serve clients. This position promotes accountability across team members, including supervisory staff, and ensures adherence to establish protocols and program expectations.
Additionally, the DVHRT Coordinator supports ongoing case monitoring and provides direct case management services for HHSA CalWORKs referrals, ensuring coordinated, client-centered service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, organization, and oversight for the Domestic Violence High-Risk Team (DVHRT) and the Advocacy and Legal Services Program.
- Promote accountability among all DVHRT members, including supervisory personnel, to ensure high standards of service, responsiveness, and adherence to team protocols.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary team members.
- Lead the development and implementation of case-specific intervention strategies designed to interrupt escalating violence and reduce the risk of further harm.
- Ensure all team members remain informed, engaged, and aligned throughout the case management process.
- Oversee and coordinate ongoing Domestic Violence Awareness and Legal Education (DALE) training in partnership with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO).
- Coordinate and deliver Domestic Violence Education for new team members, including CalWORKs staff and TCSO personnel, incorporating best practices and current legal standards.
- Advocate for the rights, safety, and well-being of survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, ensuring trauma-informed, respectful, and client-centered services.
- Support survivors in navigating medical, legal, and advocacy systems, and provide information on victims’ rights, available options, and community resources.
- Monitor high-risk cases through ongoing review of court updates, ensuring cases are tracked through resolution, including sentencing or dismissal.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of case activity and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in a rotating 24-hour on-call schedule, responding to domestic violence and sexual assault crisis calls as needed.
Ensure timely, appropriate, and effective responses to crisis situations.
Other Responsibilities:
Greet clients/donors/visitors in a friendly and professional manner and assist them in connecting with the appropriate staff person.
Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate individuals or take messages as needed.
Answer general questions regarding FSTC and refer to essential community resources as needed.
Maintain open communication with appropriate staff regarding the completion of projects and any needs for additional work.
May assist with grant and/or proposal writing as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program; may participate in other fundraising activities.
Communicate any problems or concerns with group members or group dynamics to the Program Manager in a timely manner.
Adherence to policies related to HIPAA, confidentiality, information sharing, and appropriate use of agency client database.

Qualifications:
- Associate of Arts degree, certification from a business college or vocational school, or a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work or volunteer experience demonstrating the knowledge and skills required for this position.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and basic graphics tools.
- Valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation for business use, and proof of minimum auto insurance as required by state law.
- Ability to successfully pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) Criminal Offender Record Information background check.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a combination of office, client home, and community settings.
- Frequent Travel within the community is required.
- Position requires sitting, standing, walking, and driving for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 25 pounds on occasion.
- May require occasional bending, reaching, and repetitive hand motions.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to meet family needs.
