9th Annual Guest Chef Series celebrates local abundance

One bite of a juicy, sweet Tulare County peach and you know it’s summer in the Valley. Peaches were just one of the local ingredients Chefs Jon Koobation and David Vartanian highlighted on Saturday, June 17 at Family Services’ 9th Annual Guest Chef Series event. The event, which was held outdoors at the beautiful home of Stan and Carol Trapp, featured a live cooking demonstration and tastings from Chef Koobation followed by a full dinner catered by The Vintage Press. The theme was “Come to the Table: A Celebration of the Valley’s Abundance,” and while guests enjoyed the fresh flavors of our Valley’s farms, they also contributed to Family Services’ work in our Tulare County community. The event raised more than $95,000—critical funding that will make it possible for Family Services to work with 5,000 individuals this year to build safety, hope, and healing in their lives and for their families. Thank you to all of the generous donors, sponsors, and volunteers who made the event such a success.
