Board Spotlight: Erica Cubas

This month, we are excited to highlight Erica Cubas, one of our dedicated board members at Family Services.

Erica serves as the Community Development Director at Altura Centers for Health and has always been passionate about ensuring that people have access to the resources they need. “Over the years, I’ve referred many individuals to FSTC and witnessed firsthand the positive impact of their services,” she shared. In 2023, after volunteering and becoming certified as a Sexual Assault Victim Counselor, Erica saw the difference FSTC made in people’s lives and felt called to serve on the Board of Directors.

When asked what Family Services' mission means to her, Erica explained, “I believe healing is a collective effort, and FSTC’s mission resonates with me because it emphasizes the importance of family and community support. Having resources available for those in need is crucial for healing and growth.”

Erica is especially passionate about the comprehensive services offered at Family Services, from legal support to counseling, classes, and safe shelter. “These resources provide a safety net for individuals navigating difficult times, often when they’re unsure of what they need.”

She also highlighted the importance of programs like Karen’s House: “A healthy community relies on support systems like Karen’s House and FSTC’s programs. These services not only provide essential resources but also foster a sense of community and care.”

Outside of her professional and board service, Erica enjoys spending time at the beach and reading inspirational books. We’re so grateful for her leadership, compassion, and commitment to helping families in Tulare County heal and thrive.

Family Services values collaboration, and it is through the generosity and dedication of our community that our programs are possible. Every contribution helps families heal and thrive. Whether you choose to serve on our board, volunteer, or become a monthly donor, we’re deeply grateful for everyone who joins us in this important work! Your support, and the support of community members like Erica, help our agency make a tangible difference in the lives of families striving to create safer, more nurturing environments for their children.

Thank you to our generous sponsors.
